Help with Hoarder Cleaning-Out with Just Rubbish Removal Plans to grow this portion of the business are aggressive, according to Mente, who last week told WWD that three new lines are already slated to launch in 2018. Revolve acquired Alliance Apparel in 2015, which was manufacturing Lovers + Friends and NDB at the time, in order to build a portfolio of owned brands. Revolve operates 15 in-house brands, including Grlfrnd Denim, LPA, Lovers + Friends and Chrissy Teigen x Revolve, which debuted on the site two weeks ago. If you look at social followers, many of them have larger followings than Amazon Fashion, which has invested tens of millions of dollars into marketing.” We put real marketing dollars behind it…and we have the results to show for it. ![]() “Our own brands are not carrying basic products or knock-offs - it’s some of your most fashionable trends. There’s a very big difference,” Karanikolas said. “We create real brands - not private labels. ![]() Mike Karanikolas, cofounder and co-ceo of Revolve, revealed that the portfolio comprises 25 percent of retail sales and is growing at a rate of 100 percent year-over-year. Revolve’s owned brands have become a key revenue driver as well. Mente said the four to five influencer trips in 2017 will be ramped up to six to seven next year. There’s also global #revolvearoundtheworld trips, where influencers are taken to places such as Lake Como on behalf of Revolve. Other influencer initiatives include #Revolveinthehamptons, which for the past three summers entailed playing host to a number of influencers in a lavish Hamptons house with different guests in attendance each weekend. That’s like a whole half-time show - and we didn’t have to spend nearly as much as that,” Mente said, adding that the company “did spend a good amount of money for sure” on Coachella-related marketing initiatives. “That’s a scale you don’t see in many places. Consumers are dying to come to our marketing events,” Mente said, adding that while that was all encouraging, it was the analytics that proved exactly how successful the activation was.Īnalytics data from Tribe Dynamics revealed that Revolve generated five times more social actions than H&M, the official sponsor of Coachella, for both weekends. We had lines out the door…and it was, like, ‘OK, this is really working.’ People were climbing the fences to come in. “That was thousands of outfits…it’s a real fashion show. Mente detailed the most significant influencer-fueled initiative to date: #RevolveFestival at Coachella this past spring, which he called Revolve’s “own music festival.” Mente maintained that more than five billion press and social impressions were generated during Coachella, where the retailer outfitted more than 700 influencers. There are now 5,000 total, with the upper echelon counted as paid partners who travel with and attend events and parties on behalf of the retailer and its host of in-house apparel brands. “I view it a little differently…but also it’s just harder to build that trust and really build that loyalty and I think, ultimately, the way we do that is through a lot of experimentation.”įor him, the answer became building a network of influencers to join the Revolve family. We see logos and ads - and we’re so good at tuning it out,” Mente said. “Consumers are so much smarter.…We all have mental ad blockers. ![]() He pointed out that more than 70 percent of the e-tailer’s customer base is younger than 40 years old - and this group is spending more now than ever before and will continue to do so. ![]() Eye Candy: Fantasy Takes the Fore at NYFW ![]() This became more of a concern when we found that, perhaps more than with any other VPN we’ve tested recently, Overplay VPN’s server speeds heavily rely upon proximity. This really does more for Californian and Arizonian users than it does for the rest of Mexico. Our only issue here is that the Central and South American servers are far too sparse to provide any really strong connection speeds.įor instance, the Mexican servers are clumped together in Tijuana, which is right on the border of the United States. Overplay VPN has a decent fleet of around 650 servers spread across 50 countries. Thankfully, Overplay will never log your personally identifiable location, so even if it did receive data requests from the British authorities, there’d be no relevant information for Overplay to disclose. All data requests must be fulfilled in accordance to UK law. It’s part of the original 5 Eyes alliance, which has almost immeasurable surveillance powers. The UK is one of the worst places for data privacy anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, Overplay’s privacy settings aren’t ideal: it’s registered in the United Kingdom. However, you should be careful to download the full package (SmartDNS + VPN), because the basic package does not include any encryption software. Not only does it safeguard against DNS leaks, our tests showed that it also prevents WebRTC and IPv6 leaks. Overplay also has added security features like DNS leak protection and a kill switch (which protects your data from attacks when your connection drops). The main one you need to be concerned with here is OpenVPN, which is considered one of the best protocols of the day (it’s certainly the most prominent). Our Overplay VPN review begins with great news, as we’re happy to report that the service uses AES-256-CBC encryption.ĪES-256-bit encryption is the gold standard for data encryption in 2020 (the CBC suffix just means it’s faster than the older GCM model) – it’s basically impossible to hack.Īs well as this, Overplay supports OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec, and PPTP protocols. The main things we’ll cover include its connection speeds, its capabilities with unblocking geo-restricted content, and its accessibility in heavily-censored regions such as China. For the purposes of our Overplay VPN review, however, we’ve done a deep dive into every aspect of its functionality to see just how well it performs under close scrutiny. It’s less impressive in in other areas, though being registered in the UK is a big no-no, and its apps and extensions leave something to be desired. ![]() As such, that’s exactly what our Overplay VPN review is going to do.įor the full package, Overplay’s VPN security features are practically untouchable, even if you do have to pay over the odds to access it. When so much importance falls on keeping your data secure with a VPN, it helps to know whether a service is being done well or whether it’s merely the afterthought it looks like. Technically, Overplay isn’t a straightforward VPN service it’s a DNS service that offers a VPN as an add-on. We tried it at the beach this past weekend, and again, I was really impressed. My oldest has very fair skin (is it mean to call him pale?) -) And usually burns - no matter the sunscreen we try, but has so far stayed burn-free this spring (here in NC, we've had warm/hot weather for months).thinkbaby did a fantastic job of protecting the skin of my little guys. So, my thoughts? It worked really well - I was thoroughly impressed! I didn't really know what to expect (I did expect it to work, haha) but it definitely exceeded my expectations. I came across thinkbaby sunscreen and they were kind enough to allow me to review their sunscreen! (which is now SPF 50+) I've been on a mission over the past few years to find something that was safe for my children, as I strive to teach them about sun safety. Most people wear sunscreen to reduce the chance of developing cancer, so why apply something that could potentially increase this risk? Not only do ingredients in sunscreen interact with skin, but data shows after application of lotions, some of the same chemicals can be detected in the bloodstream. Many existing sunscreens have been brought to market with little concern for their safety. Simply looking at the ingredients you’ll quickly realize you don’t recognize any of them. I shudder thinking about it! The thinkbaby website says it best, and reinforces why it is so important to think long and hard about the sunscreen you are choosing for your family: The majority of sunscreens currently on the market are full of questionable ingredients and known carcinogens. And then, there's all the chemicals included with so many sunscreens/sunblocks. ![]() Right-click on the volumes you want to mount. You will see the mounted volumes in Finder.Get started using productions Shared Folder MountingĬonnect your PC (Windows or Mac) to your QNAP NAS using Qfinder Pro. What’s really impressive is that Synology’s devices are packed with software and features for just about any type of user. I’ve been using the NAS for a while now, and it’s a great system for backing up files, and Synology Moments offers a very similar experience to Google Photos, without any fees after you purchase the NAS and drives. I love the features, and the way you can search for text and specific images or places, but I don’t want to keep paying into larger and larger plans, especially when I create a lot of images and videos that I want to back up. The catch is that there isn’t one service that’s as robust as Google Photos, and even backing up at “high quality,” I could likely fill 100 GB within a few months, considering how much I shoot with my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
